The Airline Industry’s Best and Brightest Awarded at 2011 Mega Awards Gala
Special Lifetime Achievement Awards in Loyalty and Ancillary Revenue
Setting pace for the future of the airline industry, the winners of the 2011 Mega Awards are leaders that continue to push the boundaries of innovation and move the industry forward.
As part of Airline Information’s Mega Event Conference, the Mega Awards Gala was attended by more than 300 airline travel executives and industry professionals, honoring the best in Loyalty Marketing, Social Media and Ancillary Revenue/Merchandising, hosted by Freddie Laker.
Unique to this year’s awards ceremony, individual lifetime achievement awards were presented to recognize those professionals whose careers have significantly and positively impacted the airline industry. With Randy Petersen joining the Mega Awards judging committee this year, and a renewed partnership with the Freddie Awards, Airline Information awarded the Loyalty Lifetime Achievement Mega Award to Colin Evans, chairman of Collinson Group and the Airline Ancillary Revenue Lifetime Achievement Mega Award to Jay Sorensen, president of Ideaworks Company.
The award ceremony also recognized the best campaigns in the following categories:
• Best Vendor Ancillary Revenue Merchandising – Adara Media for the TruPrecision Targeting Platform
This award recognizes the airline vendor solution that provides unmatched attributable and sustainable revenues
• Best Social Media – Estonian Air for “AirScore” Facebook Campaign
This award recognizes a social media campaign with a superior level of customer engagement and ROI
• Best in Vendor Loyalty - Loylogic for “Global Loyalty 3.0” series of enhancements
This award recognizes the loyalty and CRM IT solution for airlines that has demonstrated unmatched innovation in the industry.
• Best in Airline Loyalty – Southwest Airlines for the All-New Rapid Rewards Launch
The Mega Awards’ esteemed judging academy included: Randy Petersen, Editor and Publisher of Inside Flyer, Graham Atkinson, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Walgreens , Gary Leff, Frequent Flyer Guru, Author of “View from the Wing” blog and Patrick Murphy, Former Chairman at Ryanair.
We created the Mega Awards to honor genuine innovation in the airline industry and with this judging panel we were able to successfully peer review the campaigns and individuals and select winners that ran the gamut for the airline industry says Roger Williams, Managing Partner at Airline Information.
The Mega Awards Gala was held on 29 November in South Florida.
